You Are Part of Him

  • John 14:20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
  • John 17:21, 23 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me… I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.
  • 1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Every born-again believer is a temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16). We need to reflect on the fact that the God of the universe has His very own Spirit living in us who have made Jesus Lord and Savior of our lives (1 Corinthians 3:16). We have access to the knowledge of God, to information about what is to come, answers to every question, etc. because the Holy Spirit resides in us. Jesus said that if we abide in His Word, He abides in us.

How to stay united with Him:
  1. Spend time in the Word daily. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the Word to you as you read it.
  2. Spend time praying, praising and worshiping God daily.
  3. Bear fruit with every word that comes out of your mouth, every action you take, every decision you make. Let your life reflect His love. John 15:2, 4-5 states: “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
  4. Obey His commands and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Call to action:
Be intentional about spending time with God and obeying Him. Determine to bear much fruit.
