Without Faith it Is Impossible to Please God

  • Hebrews 11:6  And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
  • Hebrews 10:35-36  So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.  You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
  • Galatians 3:11  “The righteous will live by faith.”
  • 2 Corinthians 5:7, 9  “We live by faith, not by sight”…. “So we make it our goal to please him”.

Faith pleases God.  Faith tells Him you believe Him, you believe what He said in His Word, and you are willing to contend for what He said is yours.  Faith is the currency to appropriate your requests presented to the Father.  Faith is also required to use your power and authority against the devil.  Either the devil will back down or you will.  If you’ve read the Word, you know that Jesus has already defeated Satan and if you fight the good fight of faith, you have the victory.

God has given us all that we need to fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12).  We have the Name of Jesus, we have the Word, we have power and authority over the enemy, we have the Holy Spirit and we have the baptism of the Holy Spirit to empower us and to pray in tongues to build ourselves up in our most holy faith.  God has thoroughly equipped us to win, hence why He is not pleased when we shrink back, when we throw away our confidence.  When we throw in the towel, it means we don’t trust Him and/or we are not using what He’s given us to succeed.

How to have faith that pleases God:
  1. Take the time to review the elements identified in the topic Essentials for Your Faith Walk.  Get to know all that you have as part of your spiritual arsenal to be secure in your faith.  Trust God to deliver all His promises and meet all your needs.
  2. Identify scriptures to deal with your circumstance or to meet your need.  Depending on your situation: a) put your request before the Father in the Name of Jesus (John 16:23-24) believing you receive it (Mark 11:24); b) declare the Word and put it to work for you in the Name of Jesus.  Hebrews 4:12: says the word of God is alive and active and sharper than any double-edged sword; and c) if the situation requires you to take authority, do so using the Name.
  3. Do not doubt or waver through unbelief but stand firm (Ephesians 6:13) until you see the manifestation come to pass.  Command doubt and unbelief to leave in the Name of Jesus.
  4. Give glory to God.  Philippians 4:6 tells us to make our requests known by prayer, petition and thanksgiving so rejoice and give Him thanks before you see the victory.
