People Should Know You’ve Been with Jesus

  • Acts 4:13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
  • Acts 6:8 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.
  • Exodus 34:29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.
  • Acts 4:31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

Paul was transformed when he encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-19). Few have that type of encounter but we can be changed nonetheless. When you spend time in the Word and allow it to go deep in your heart, it transforms you. When you spend time talking and listening to the Lord, He’ll direct and lead you. His Word and His Spirit will guide you and correct you, as you allow them to. Not only will you realize you’re changing, but others around you will see it too. Little by little you’ll become more like Jesus.

What to do to look like Jesus:
  1. Study the life of your Savior as shared in the Gospels. Don’t just read the Word but ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to you. See how He lived, how He loved, how He ministered.
  2. Live a life surrendered and submitted to God.
  3. Spend time in worship and you can become like Moses did when he spent 40 days with God. His face glowed and so can your life.
  4. Read the Word daily and spend time fellowshiping with God (Father/Jesus/Holy Spirit) through prayer and conversation. Allow Him to talk to you so listen for His still small voice.
  5. Speak the Word boldly as God gives you opportunities.
  6. Be a doer of the Word. Jesus did what He saw His Father doing so do what Jesus did and what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. Offer to pray for those who are hurting and see God move in their lives. Jesus is the Healer and He came to set the captives free. He needs your hands and your mouth to share His love and extend healing.
