Meditate and Act On the Word to Be Successful and Prosperous

  • Joshua 1:7-8  Be strong and very courageous.  Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.  Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.  Then you will be prosperous and successful.
  • Psalm 1:1-2  Blessed is the one… whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
  • Psalm 48:9  Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love.
  • Psalm 119:99  I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.

Meditating on the Word day and night will allow you to be careful to do everything it says.  Meditation is fixing your mind on something.  Realize that you can meditate on the wrong thing such as a problem and that turns into worry which God has commanded you not to do (Philippians 4:6, John 14:1).  Choose to meditate on the Word of God.  If you do it as the Word prescribes, then you will be blessed (Psalm 1:1-2), prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8).

How to meditate on the Word of God:
  1. Fix your mind on the Word itself.  Choose a scripture that has implications for your life or that you want revelation on.  For example, if you are a worrier, meditate on Philippians 4:6 and John 14:1; if you live by the flesh instead of being led by the Spirit, meditate on Romans 8:5 or another relevant scripture.  As you meditate on a scripture, let the Spirit give you revelation instead of analyzing it with your head to come to your own conclusions.
  2. Meditate on the Word by repeating a scripture and pondering it in your heart. Pray in the Spirit as you meditate and listen to what the Spirit says to you.  Value what He tells you and write it down.
  3. Meditate the Word of God and allow it to change your thinking and behavior.  If you put it into action, you will be successful and prosperous (Joshua 1:8).
