His Presence

  • 1 John 3:19  This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence…
  • Exodus 33:14  The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
  • Psalm 16:11  You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
  • Psalm 21:6  Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.

The curtain of the temple that prevented the people to enter the Holy of holies under the Old Covenant was torn in two from top to bottom when Jesus gave up his spirit on the cross (Matthew 27:50-51).  We now have access to God and we can approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).  There is rest, joy and peace in His presence.

How to access God’s presence:
  1. Spend time thanking God, praising Him and worshiping Him daily.  “Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord” (Psalm 89:15).
  2. Seek Him with all your heart and you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).
  3. Pray in the Spirit for extended periods of time while adoring Him.

Call to action:
God is a personal God.  He wants to spend time with you and you have access to Him.  Take time to seek Him with all your heart.  You will enjoy the glory, peace and joy of His presence.
