His Plans for Your Life

  • Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future….”
  • Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
  • 1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
  • Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

God has plans for your life. He has prepared good works for you to do. The only way you’ll discover what He has for you is by spending time with Him, reading His Word, submitting to Him, listening to Him and obeying when He directs you. He’ll never ask you to do something you can’t do with His assistance and He’ll never ask you to do something that doesn’t line up with His Word. He will equip you. As you obey in the little things, He’ll entrust you with bigger things. The more you obey, the more the plans for your life will unfold to you.

How to know His plans for your life:
  1. Spend time with your Father praising Him and worshiping Him daily. It will get you closer to Him and develop your spiritual ears to hear Him.
  2. Ask Father what He wants you to do. Listen for His voice, His still small voice (Psalm 46:10). Then when He speaks, listen and write down what He says. If He gives you something to do, do it. Don’t hesitate or the enemy will try to derail you. (Note: if it does not line up with God’s Word, it’s not God.)
  3. If God prompts you to serve somewhere, volunteer in that area.

Call to action:
Serve where God has called you or is calling you. If you can’t hear from God yet, start serving somewhere and let Him direct your next move. If God has been prompting you to serve in a given capacity and you’ve neglected to do so, take a step of faith and volunteer. Believe that He wants to develop you for the plans and purpose He has for your life.
