According To Your Faith

  • Matthew 9:29-30 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”, and their sight was restored.
  • Matthew 9:22 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment. (Mark 5:34, Luke 8:48)
  • Mark 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” (Luke 5:20)
  • Mark 10:52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

According to your faith… Your faith has healed you. These are words that Jesus used repeatedly in the Bible. The outcome was linked directly to the faith of those requesting or believing for something. This is the case for us today as well. It’s up to us to build our faith to receive from God. It’s the currency that appropriates the promises of God.

How to posture yourself to receive:
  1. Faith comes by hearing the Word so read or listen to the Word daily. You are better to put a little in your heart than a lot in your head. You want what you read to be rooted and established in your heart so that when the enemy wants to take it from you or trouble presents itself, nothing will move you.
  2. Spend time in praise and worship to your King. It will develop not only your intimacy with Him but your trust in Him. It’s much easier to believe God when you know Him personally rather than know about Him. You can approach Him with freedom and confidence through faith in Him (Ephesians 3:12).
  3. Meditate on Scripture that impact your life and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you what it means (John 14:26). When you get revelation about God’s Word, it is much easier to believe and to fight doubt, unbelief and fear. You know that you know that you know that the Word is true.
  4. Declare the Word and put it to work for you. Hebrews 4:12: says: “For the word of God is alive and active”. It is an offensive weapon that must be used to enforce the victory.
  5. Don’t be moved when adverse circumstances rise up. Come against them in the Name of Jesus. Use your shield of faith to deflect the flaming arrows of the enemy (Ephesians 6:16).
  6. Don’t battle with negative thoughts; take them captive and make them obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Renew your mind to the Word. Command any doubt, unbelief or fear to leave in the Name of Jesus.
  7. Stand until God answers your prayer. Hold firmly to the faith you profess (Hebrews 4:14).
  8. Build yourself up in your most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit daily (Jude 20).

Call to action:
Examine your faith and see how it would stand up in different circumstances. How would you react if you suddenly had a migraine? What would you say or do? Would your first reaction be to take authority and power over sickness or would it be your last resort?
